Password trouble with QuickBooks Online.
Stephen Bazley, Director
Quickbooks Online has put in place measures to ensure that your online financial data is secure
It requires:
- a high-password strength (this means that it is harder for outsiders to guess)
Resetting your Password?
- Go to www.quickbooksonline.com.au
- At the bottom-right on the page, choose ‘Manage your account’
- Click on ‘Forgot your password?’
- Enter your administrator username starting with ‘qbi\’
- Enter the e-mail address that was used to set up the account
- Click on ‘Get Password’
Your password will be e-mailed to you. It is then recommended that you change your password.
Changing Your Password
- Go to a http://www.quickbooksonline.com.au
- At the bottom-right on the page, choose ‘Manage your account’
- Login using your administrator username and password
- Go to manage users
- Click on the user for which you want to change the password
- Click on a change password option
The password must be at least six (6) characters long and meet three (3) of the following criteria:
- Include a lowercase character (e.g. a-z)
- Include an uppercase character (e.g. A-Z)
- Include a digit (e.g. 0-9)
- Include a special character (e.g. !@#$%^*()_+-)
So, ‘Micky3′ would be fine but not ‘micky3′ (only meets two criteria) or ‘Mic3′ (too short).
It is best that you reset your password each month.
Running QuickBooks Online for the First Time
Currently, Quickbooks Online Standard only operates on a Windows PC. If you have a iMac or iPad you will need to use the Premium version of Quickbooks Online .Quickbooks Online does work with Mozilla Firefox with special browser setup instructions. However, I prefer staying with Internet Explorer.
If you have trouble using Internet Explorer, you may have to do the following:
- Reset Internet Explorer. Open IE – tools – options – advanced – reset
- Try to login to Quickbooks Online – and choose to run add-in
- Still not working? You may have to google, download, and install ‘Remote Desktop Connection 7.0′
- Try to login to QB Online – and choose to run add-in
If you are not sure what you are doing, call Bizgro Bookkeeping or QuickBooks Technical Support.
Logging into QuickBooks Online
You can use either of these two ways to login to your QuickBooks Online account:
- Go to www.quickbooksonline.com.au/ts
- Go to www.quickbooksonline.com.au – then ‘Login to your Account’
